Dr.Sunitha A S
Chief, Evaluation Division

Dr. Sunitha A.S serves as Chief of Evaluation Division since 18th May, 2022. Prior to joining Planning Board, she served as faculty at premier educational institutions including National Institute of Technology, Calicut and SCMS Cochin School of Business. Dr. Sunitha completed her Masters’ in Business Economics, M.Phil in Applied Economics and Ph.D from the Department of Applied Economics, CUSAT. Her areas of research interests include Development Economics, Decentralisation and local governance, Poverty and inequality, Social engineering of Dalits and Adivasis, Welfare of other marginalised communities, Women and child development etc.

Dr. Sunitha has undergone training from ISID Delhi, TISS Mumbai, CDS Thiruvananthapuram etc. and has proved her prowess in Research Methodology and Data Analysis. She has been a panelist for budget, 2022-23 discussions of leading media houses. While working as research associate with CSSEIP, CUSAT she was instrumental in completing several research projects funded by UNDP, ICSSR, Planning Commission (Presently NITI Aayog), State Planning Board, MSSR, University of Alberta etc. As the Principal Investigator, she was awarded two Major Research Projects, one from ICSSR and another from Kerala State Women’s Commission. Her articles have been published in leading national as well as international journals, along with presentations of several research papers in National and International conferences across India including UNU-WIDER, HDCA Delhi, IDS Jaipur, MIDS Chennai, CSSS Kolkatta, CESS Hyderabad, KILA etc.
